A little Spamalot reference for the more observant among you. Anyway...

So, I just wanted to give a brief update. (Not that anyone actually reads this blog, but, for what it's worth, I like to keep track of these sorts of things.) For the record, I finished the last of my college applications over winter break, so now that that hellish period of my life is over--and following the completion of midterms--hopefully the remainder of my high school career will actually be enjoyable. I cannot begin to tell you how glad I am to be leaving high school. Not that all of it was bad, but, needless to say, I feel more than ready to move on.

This transition also means I should have more time to be diligent about this blog. For my next post, I'm thinking of doing a reflection on a recent experience of mine. But before you yawn, I promise, if I go through with it, I'll use my trademark wit to make it a pleasurable read--no long, verbose, whimsical reflections on the meaning of life. Sorry, you won't find that here. Somewhat humorous reflections on being a teenager, however, are quite the norm.

Legend tells us the last year of high school is full of fun and parties, especially as "senioritis" kicks in. To some, perhaps that is all senior year is. As for others, we stress about the dreaded college applications.

If there was ever a time not to procrastinate, this is certainly it. As I compose my pleas to the gods of college admissions, you're going to hear much less of me. Fear not. I'll be back soon enough!

To be fair, I'd like to give the following heads-up to any fellow students attending the first 3-week program at Cornell University this summer: I will be blogging while I'm there. As I share my experiences for all the Internet to see, just be careful, because you might end up in my next post. (Future roommate, I fear for you the most. Get any strange habits out of your system while you still can!) In the meantime, hopefully, my experiences at Cornell will make for some interesting material to blog about. Can't wait!

I'd love to say that I will be a diligent blogger, giving my (currently nonexistent) fans constant updates. However, knowing my busy schedule, this will probably not be the case. With luck, you will hear from me on a regular basis. With even more luck, this is will be the perfect dose of wacky rants.

Since I am the midst of the stress and strains of 11th grade, trying to figure out the "right school" (i.e. college) for me, you can bet the most common topic on this blog will be high school. Those of you with a perfectly rational fear of teenagers should turn away now.
